What are the Exceptions for Reading, Writing, and Speaking in a Naturalization Examination?
- Those who apply for naturalization must prove their ability to read, write and speak English.
- However, there are 15/55 and 20/50 exceptions that can exempt you from these parts of the naturalization exam.
- You must still pass the civics portion of the exam but it can be given in your native language if you fall into the exemption categories.
