What should I know about deportation waivers?

When you are in jeopardy of being deported, you are facing a scary and uncertain future. However, though it may be difficult, there are ways that you can try and remain in the United States. Fighting deportation is no easy hurdle and it is crucial that you obtain the services of an experienced immigration attorney who can determine whether or not you can fight your inadmissibility.

In order to fight deportation proceedings, you may have to file form I-601. In order to be eligible for a successful waiver, you will have to have an immigration attorney fight for you based on health, criminal grounds, economic grounds, amongst other factors.

Some of the reasons that you may be facing deportation can include committing a crime that can include fraudulent documents, drugs, bringing other undocumented immigrants into the country, and having a fraudulent marriage in order to try and get a Green Card. The government is going to do what they can to prove that you should not stay in the country. The reality is that these charges are not going to be easy to combat and unless you have a really good reason to remain within the United States, you may not be able to.
