New Immigration Services Online Account Option

When applying for a Green Card within the United States, there are a lot of fees that need to be paid and forms that must be submitted. This is a very document-heavy process that may quickly become difficult. However, in order to make the process somewhat more simple, the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services has implemented a program allowing you to pay the fees associated with obtaining a Green Card online.

New immigrants will have the option to create an online account with USCIS. This account will make it easier for you to go online and check the status of your Green Card as well as be easily notified of any updates to your case. When all of your fees have been paid and your forms have been approved, you will receive your Green Card in the mail at the address you have most recently provided in your online account. If you need to update your mailing address at any time, you can do so through your online account with USCIS. It is important that you keep your address information updated so your Green Card is sent to the correct location.

You should receive your Green Card within either 120 days after entering the United States or 120 days fro the date in which your Immigrant Fee was paid to the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services. If your Green Card does not arrive at your address within this timeframe, you should contact the USCIS as soon as possible and notify them of the issue. If you have any other questions regarding the process of obtaining a Green Card, you should consult with an experienced immigration law attorney who can help you.
